Welcome Kris

We would like to say Thank You and Goodbye to Becky who worked in our office, and we wish her well in her new job and we would like to welcome and introduce you to Kris who is our new member of our office team, we hope she will enjoy working with us and all our customers.

Gateley Reading

We would like to congratulate Gateley PLC on another new office, situated in ‘The Blade’ Reading.

We have installed a brand new TDSI Door Entry System, Intruder Alarm and CCTV System which involved 3 of our engineers working there for the week, working alongside other trades men and Gateley staff.

We have installed/taken over systems in several of their new and existing offices now and have since quoted for a new offices in Leeds, Belfast and an upgrade to security systems on the London based office. We wish Gateley’s a prosperous future in their new reading offices and we look forward to our continued working relationship.

Cradley Heath Factory Centre to be demolished

Our fifty years in business has seen us work at many of the businesses that have been and gone in the Cradley Heath Factory Centre, Woods Lane. But we have been commissioned with our final job there, to sadly disconnect all of the buildings ready for the demolition of the whole site, to make way for 247 new houses. It has been a big part of Cradley Heath’s industrial past, but in recent years, most of the units had become derelict, with only a few businesses remaining there on short term leases.

It has been a huge job disconnecting and ensuring that the whole site is safe for demolition, while still helping the few remaining businesses to continue there last days of trading from the premises, without disruption to their power supply. We have also had to work along side companies that deal with Co2 Fire Protection Equipment and Asbestos Removal.

It will be sad to see it go, but will bring a much needed face lift to the area.

Are our customers turning green?

We have recently had a little run on installing Electric Car Charging Points, it seems that our customers are all set on helping the environment!

Envirosort Rewire

Our long standing working relationship with Severn Waste has lead us to rewiring one of their big Recycling Plants, Envirosort, which sorts waste from all over Hereford and Worcestershire.

The plant was shut down for us while we worked on the plant. It was a dirty job for the engineers involved, but the job was a great success.

LED Lighting

We have been making a move towards LED Lighting as more and more of our customers are enquiring about it. It is a big investment but big cost savings can be made, and a reduction in your carbon footprint over a period of time, as LED lighting is far more energy efficient. Also LED light fittings are far more reliable, with manufactures suggesting a longer lifespan than older style fittings.

Some customers have made a small move by having old Halogen/Metal Halide style Security lights replaced with the new modern LED versions, with our customers being really pleased with the results.

Two of our oldest local customers, Cox and Plant Ltd and Ufone Precision Engineers Ltd have gone the hole hog and invested in new LED suspended low bay light fittings, replacing the tired old lighting. Both customers were really impressed by the modern look of the new lighting and the fantastic improvement in the illumination of their factories.

If you are interested in what your savings could be and would like Kevin to give you a free no obligation quotation, including a lighting scheme and a saving schedule please give us a call on 01384 560333 and we can arrange a convenient time for us to pop round.

Wates Constuction – Roof Extraction, WMBC Flats.

We have been very busy the second part of 2015 continuing in 2016, working with Wates Construction on a big project for Wolverhampton Homes.

Working along side Wates and Midland Drainage Engineers, we started by surveying all of the Extraction Ducts on the Heath Town Flats. Using CCTV fed through the ducts, we checked for any blockages/faults and carried out remedial works where necessary.

The work has now entered the phase of KD replacing the old worn out Roof Extraction on 8 blocks of flats, with a new up to date Nuaire systems. So far the work has been very successful. The work is continuing and we look forward to completing the project with Wates.

Also John Genner was given a Gold Watch by Kevin and Julie for his long service to the company……..Here is to the next 50Years!

Armorduct Relocate – April 2015

After many years of working with Armorduct at their Pear Tree Lane address we have helped them move to The Pensnett Trading Estate, installing all Electrics, Data and Security.

We started by preparing their new unit, installing distribution, all power points ready for machinery and general sockets around the works. We also used Armorducts own trunking and fixings products that they manufacture. Dado Trunking, Sockets, Lighting and Emergency Lighting were installed ready for the new Production Office equipment. Cat5 data circuits installed complete with Patch Panel which was also to be connected to a machine via a RJ45 Socket outlet.

Then came moving day and it was all hands to the deck!! – Over a weekend all our engineers disconnected from Pear Tree Lane and reinstalled 45+ machines/equipment as they arrived at the new unit. We had to get as much as possible reconnected and working for Monday morning so there was as little disruption to manufacturing as possible.

Since then our engineers Stuart and Nathan have gone on to help getting them settled in, moving machines around to suit them and installing any extra electrics where required. Finally we have been taking care of there security needs, installing an Intruder Alarm and CCTV system.

The move has kept us all very busy since mid March and we would like to thank Armorduct for choosing us as their preferred electrical contractors and entrusting us with their factory relocation. We look forward to working with them on the future projects, wishing them good luck and a prosperous future in their new premises.

We have also carried out works at the Bradley Chains site to make safe the premises and disconnect disused equipment.

We wish William Hackett a continued susses with their business ventures.

We have been helping Triflow complete their overhaul and reorganisation of their factory in Tamworth. We have relocated machinery, installed new distribution and lighting throughout the factory. We had to keep disruption to a minimum so the factory could continue to produce their high end Kitchen and bathroom products.

Severn Waste continuing work.

We have been working with Severn Waste again over the winter period managing, repairing and upgrading all of Hereford and Worcestershire Council household waste sites external lighting. Due to the nature of the sites and locations of the lights we are able to tow a cherry picker from site to site, to ensure easy access to the lighting and minimal disruption to waste disposal.

We provide a 24/7 breakdown service for Severn Waste to attend to items such as wheel washes, weigh bridges and traffic control. We are currently building and replacing the electrical panel control systems to the site Compactors due continuous breakdowns.

A number of the sites have also been experiencing an increased number of break-ins, therefore we have been working with them to increase security and CCTV on the sites. We also attend site for them to record footage on to disc and have caught a number of perpetrators on CCTV.

Our sister company K D Property Maintenance has also been working closely with Severn Waste, upgrading their Staff Kitchen Areas on a number of sites and replacing steel paneling on the side of the Waste Bulk Bays.

There is always a wide verity of work coming our way from Severn Waste and Mercia Waste and we like to think that we can help them with all of their needs. We look forward to our continued work with them.

Testimonials

“We installed a CCTV system to one of our clients following several thefts of diesel from their Lorries. Following the installation they had no further thefts. The director of the company was really happy that she could also keep an eye on her yard via her i-Phone while she was not on site and that she felt far more secure when alone at the works.”
Mayweld Welding Limited

“We would to thank K D Electrical for their second to none quality of service over the past 30+ years. Long may our working relationship continue.”
Scot Young Research.

“Ever since making the decision that we wanted to implement a CCTV system we were lucky enough to have K.D. Electrical recommended by a supplier and haven’t looked back. The entire process was as it should be, problem free. The specification process was simple, Mark came down and ran through our requirements, measured up and then came back with a full implementation plan and examples of the different types of hardware to fulfil the different requirements we had requested. Installation was carried out over the course of a week and went without a hitch, culminating in training on the last day so we can access all the features included with the system such as Iphone connectivity and remote viewing over http! The system has worked out so well we even caught an incident in a neighbour’s car park and with a couple of clicks we were able to supply a viewable copy for insurance purposes without interrupting our continuous coverage.”
Stephen Wright. Doughty Engineering.
