TESTING INSPECTIONS
Electrical Inspection Condition Report (EICR)
It is a requirement of the Electricity at Work regulations that all electrical installations are maintained so far as to prevent danger, and it is also increasingly likely that your insurance company will insist on such an inspection. One of the ways to comply with this is to have your electrical installation regularly inspected by a competent electrical contractor. To assist in compliance with the regulations K D Electrical have developed a standard periodic inspection and test routine for Commercial, Industrial and Domestic installations.

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing):
A quarter of all serious electrical accidents involve portable appliances. There is a requirement for the employer, and those renting re-selling or repairing portable appliances to take adequate steps to protect the users of those appliances from both electrical shock and fire hazards. The HSE claim nearly 2000 fires were caused by faulty leads to appliances. To meet the requirements of the 1989 ‘Electricity at Work Regulations’ it is widely regarded to be necessary to implement a programme of planned inspection and testing of portable appliances.
